Hakeem demands restoration of Peoples Democratic Rights, CBMs

PDF Chief also demands immediate construction of Gulmarg -Tossamaidan - Doodhpathri -Yusmarg tourist circuit

Budgam: Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Front (J&K PDF) and former Minister Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen on Tuesday reiterated his party’s resolve to strive for restoration of the constitutional and democratic rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. “Upholding honour and dignity of the people and restoration of their constitutional and democratic rights was core mission of PDF ,“ Hakeem said while speaking at a largely attended public meeting here on Tuesday . He assured that PDF would be ever ready to offer any sacrifice for protecting honour and identity of the people of Jammu and Kashmir . He urged the center to hold Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir without any further delay to restore democratic and constitutional rights of the people and to enable local people elect their own representatives.
According to a statement issued from party headquarters here, PDF Chairman has urged the center to initiate meaningful confidence building measures ( CBMs) to bridge the prevailing mistrust and disenchantment among the people of Jammu and Kashmir . He said people here want peace with dignity , restoration of their democratic rights and fulfillment of their political ,social and developmental aspirations which need to be reciprocated with love and humanitarian approach .He said proxy governments in Jammu and Kashmir have failed to solve problems of the common people adding that rapport between bureaucracy and the common people have reached to its lowest ebb. The deep disconnect between people and bureaucracy has aggravated problems of the as never before .
Hakeem Yaseen observed that due to prevailing socio- political uncertainty and vacuum coupled with denial of democratic rights , the trust deficit among the people has deepened at an alarming level. He said ,in the larger national interests , Center should meet aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir , without vested political considerations . “ Governments may come and go, but what was supreme is to protect the pluralistic credential of the country ,” the PDF chairman said, adding that need of the over was to promote value based politics .
PDF leader asked the people to reject dynastic political parties adding that Jammu and Kashmir has suffered greatly due to dynastic rule over the years. He also cautioned the people against political parties that were thriving on the policy of deceit and communal hatred adding that satiating ones political interests after exploiting sentiments and emotions of the innocent people , on false promises , was against the ethics and human values.
Hakeem Yaseen asked the workers to improve their public interface adding that future of politics belongs only to those who have trust and goodwill of the common people . He asked the PDF cadre to educate common people about the need to elect an honest , talented and committed political leader-ship , for the overall good of the people.
He asked the workers to be fully pre- pared for the upcoming urban local bodies ( ULB ) and Panchayat elections.
Hakeem Yaseen also urged the government the complete all developmental projects in Khansahib constituency that were languishing from last several years . These include proposed minihydle power projects at nallah sukhnag and nallah shali ganga and construction of Gulmarg -Tossamaidan – Doodhpathri -Yusmarg tourist circuit .
