Srinagar: Police on Saturday said that two militants of LeT/TRF militant outfit were arrested by in a joint operation with security forces, adding therein that incriminating materials, arms and ammunition were also recovered from their possession in Baramulla.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said, that Police on 21st September in Baramulla on receiving inputs about one Yaseen Ahmad Shah S/o Tariq Ahmad R/o Janbazpora Baramulla having gone missing from his home and joined proscribed LeT/TRF militant outfit registered a case under relevant sections of law at Police Station Baramulla and investigation was accordingly taken up.
Police in its statement further said that on receiving inputs based on human/technical intelligence, a joint team of Baramulla Police, Army and CAPF during MVCP checking at Tapper Pattan, apprehended the said militant and recovered from incriminating materials, arms and ammunition including one Pistol, one Pistol Magazine and eight live rounds were also recovered from his possession.
Police in statement also said that during questioning, the said militant disclosed the name of his other associate as Parvaiz Ahmad Shah S/o Ali Mohd R/o Takiya Wagoora and accordingly, joint parties of Baramulla Police, Army and CAPF raided his residence and subsequently arrested him also following which two Hand Grenades were also recovered from his possession.
Stating that during the further course of interrogation 1 Pistol, 1 Pistol Magazine and 8 live rounds were also recovered from the house of the said militant Mohammad Yaseen Shah at Janbazpora, Police in it’s statement furthermore said that the said militants were operating on the directions from Pakistan based handlers and were planning to recruit more militants and carry out militant activities in Baramulla and nearby areas, adding therein yjat investigation is at the initial stage and more arrests and recoveries are expected.
