DC Kupwara reviews preparation for updation of Panchayat Electoral Roll

Kupwara: The Deputy Commissioner (DC), Kupwara, also District Election Officer on Friday convened a meeting of Returning Officers (ROs) and Assistant Returning Officers (AROs) to review the preparations for adding left out voters in Panchayat Electoral Roll by way of new Supplement.
On the occasion, the DC asked all the officers to ensure that no eligible voters with respect to 01.01.2023 as qualifying date is left out of current process of updation which will be started from 20th September and will culminate on 10th October.
The DC also directed the officers to inspect the polling stations and ensure Assured Minimum Facilities are made available there.
It was given out in the meeting that training for AEROs and BLOs shall also be conducted in coming days for smooth updation process.
Earlier, ACR Kupwara, Irfan Bahadur who is also Dy. DEO briefed the chair about various measures being put in place for smooth updation of eligible voters in the district.
ADC Handwara, Nazir Ahmad Mir; ACR (Dy.DEO), SDMs, ACD, BDOs and other concerned attended the meeting.
