Jmu: A Lok Adalat was held Thursday here at the district court complex under the chairmanship of Chairman, District Legal Services Authority Jammu Vinod Chatterjee Koul.Two benches were established to conduct the proceedings.
The First bench comprising Pr. District and Sessions Judge, Vinod Chatterjee Koul and Additional District and Sessions Judge (MACT) Jatinder Singh Jamwal, settled 7 cases out of 43 cases. An amount of Rs. 33.35 Lakh was awarded as compensation.
The second bench comprising Additional District Judge (Bank Cases) Bala Jyoti, and City Judge, Surinder Singh, settled 08 post litigation and 13 pre litigation cases of the 22 cases taken up by it. An amount of Rs. 17.83 crore was also recovered.
