SMVD Superspeciality Hospital hosts free medical camp for locals

Jammu: Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Superspeciality Hospital Katra, in collaboration with SMVD Press Club Katra (Mata Vaishno Devi), has organized a free medical camp to provide consultations and screenings to the locals of Katra The event, which saw participation from doctors specializing in Internal Medicine, Ophthalmology, Gynecology, Orthopedics, and Pediatrics, was inaugurated by SDM Katra, Deepak Dubey, and special guest SP Katra, Vipan Chandaran.
The medical camp was a big success, with more than 400 patients screening for various ailments free of cost. The doctors provided consultations on the spot and also conducted free X-rays, blood tests, mammography, ECG, and primary screening. The patients who needed medicines were also provided with them free of charge.
The event was attended by several prominent personalities, including Rakesh Wazir President Restaurant & Hotel Association Katra, Virinder Kesar Vice President Hotel & Restaurant Association Katra, and Arun Sharma President SMVD Press Club Katra.
The doctors who participated in the event included Dr. Bhanu Pratap from Internal Medicine, Dr. Imran Ganai from Orthopedics, Dr. Arunima Rathore from Gynecology, Dr. Anand Yelne from Pediatrics, and Dr. Swati Sharma from Ophthalmology.
Speaking on the occasion, SDM Katra Deepak Dubey said, “Ensuring access to quality healthcare services is crucial for the well-being of our community, and I am glad to see Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Superspeciality Hospital and SMVD Press Club come together to organize this free medical camp. I hope this initiative will benefit many locals and inspire more such collaborative efforts in the future.”
The hospital would also like to extend its heartfelt gratitude to Ramesh Bajaj, Chairman Mahamai Sewa Nyas, for his invaluable contribution to the success of the medical camp. Mr Bajaj generously provided the space for the camp, ensuring that it was conducted in a professional and organized manner. The hospital is grateful for his support, and it is the hospital’s hope that more partnerships will emerge with local community organizations in the future, to improve access to quality healthcare services.

The hospital’s tie-up with SMVD Press Club Katra is aimed at increasing awareness about healthcare issues and organizing more such events to benefit the community.
The camp was conducted under the guidance of Facility Director M.M Mathavan and carried out by Team Marketing. M M Mathavan also informed that SMVD Narayana Hospital is the highest quality service provider for Ayushman beneficiaries in the Jammu province.
