Gandhi Jayanti: GDC Ramgarh hosts screening of motivational movies to mark special series of activities

Samba: Government Degree College Ramgarh organized Screening of movies on life and works of M.K. Gandhi & awareness on “Nasha Mukt Bharat” and Bhrashtachar Mukt JK” to mark start of month-long commemorative activities on Gandhi jayanti.
The special series of events has been organized under the aegis of India’s presidency in G20; “Nasha Mukt Bharat” and Bhrashtachar Mukt JK” and over all banner of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. The events were organized under the guidance and coordination of Prof.(Dr.) Geetanjali Andotra, Principal of the College.
Prof. Risha Kumari, Convener of the event managed the Whole event. In the beginning, she briefed the students about the event being celebrated to pay tributes to the Father of the Nation. She added that Gandhi ji was the preeminent leader of the Indian independence movement in British-ruled India, who employed non-violence and civil disobedience which led to India’s independence. The movies screened reflected on Gandhi ji’s prolific life in his quest for India’s independence and for peaceful protesting and movements for civil rights and freedom across the world. She also highlighted the purpose of celebrating Bhrashtachar Mukt J&K Week and added that the online shift of services has paved the way for transparent, accountable and accessible Government to citizens besides has also ensured time-bound service delivery and redressal of grievances.
Dr. Sandeep Kumar made the students aware about the social and health hazards of drug abuse and motivated them towards a Drug Free life and society.
A large number of students attended the event. The other faculty members who were present include Dr. Aditi Khajuria, Prof. Seema Sharma, Dr. Shamsher Lal, Dr. Ekta Rani, Dr. Rahul Kundal, Dr. Priya Sharma, Dr. Paramjeet Kour, Dr. Shivali Choudhary, Dr. Sahil Kumar and Anil Kumar.
