Rajouri: Director General J&K Police Dilbagh Singh Wednesday said that properties of militants who fled to Pakistan from various parts of J&K to take shelter there are being attached and the process will continue.
After inaugurating and inspecting the newly inaugurated facilities in Rajouri, the DGP while chairing a security review meeting directed the officers to be more vigilant and keep pressure on the anti national elements and their supporters. He stressed upon officers to identify the people and OGWs who support the anti national elements and help sustain the militant eco-system. He appreciated the recent successes of J&K Police and other security forces against militancy in different encounters. He said that synergy between the forces have always been useful in our CT grid. Communication at the grass root level of all forces should be clear to achieve success against anti national elements, he added.
The Police Chief later interacted with the VDC members and appreciated their cooperation and support for Jammu and Kashmir Police in peace efforts. He hoped that they would continue their cooperation with J&K Police and other security forces in tracking the anti-peace elements and providing better and secure environment for the people. He later released a book on militancy compiled by Dr. Haseeb Mughal, DIG, Rajouri Poonch Range. The compilation has all militancy related Data since inception of militancy in RP Range and is first of its kind to have a complete control over the militant support network in the Range.
The DGP also visited the Army Hospital Rajouri, to know the welfare of the personnel injured in the encounter. The DGP also met the family members of the injured personnel.
Talking to reportsabout 5th August encounter at Khawas areas of Rajouri the DGP said that on receiving the information regarding the movement of militants, the DO concerned alongwith local VDC members without wasting any time launched the operation in the area. The operation was subsequently joined by the army and in the encounter a Pakistani militant was neutralized. Some militants managed to escape during the encounter, adding that after some time another militant was found dead in the Reasi area. His details were already shared by ADGP Jammu, he said. Some two days back 02 militants of same group were spotted in Chasana area of Reasi, he said, adding that immediately Police Station Chasana along with Police Post Tuli launched the operation and the operation was subsequently joined by Army. So far one militant has been gunned down, adding that operation is still on, he further stated.
On this occasion, DGP Singh said Pakistan with its evil intentions is pushing militants in Rajouri and Poonch area and added that with the local support J&K police and other security forces have foiled many attempts by neutralizing infiltrated militants. Those who managed to escape are being tracked, he added. He congratulated the Rajouri Police, CAPFs, and people of the area for these successful operations. He said that security has been further augmented on borders and each and every militant in the area would be tracked down. He also appreciated the commitment of VDC members and the civilians for their contribution on anti-militancy operations. With the support of people, the JK Police along with other security forces would foil each and every conspiracy of Pakistan and its agencies, he added. He said that Rajouri and Poonch border grid has been further strengthen to counter the attempts of Pakistan and its agencies. We have a list of militants who are natives of J&K and were operating in various parts of the J&K but have fled to Pakistan to take refuge there. Their properties are being attached and the process will continue, the DGP said. He said that a close watch is being maintained on these militants as they continue to promote militancy sitting across the LoC. There will be no mercy for them, he added. Every link of militant would be smashed, the DGP stated.
Moreover the DGP further said that some militants are active in Rajouri and Poonch districts, among them three have been gunned down during last few days and added that efforts are on to track down the remaining militants. With regard to drugs being supplied by Pakistan, the DGP said that Pakistan is pushing the drugs alongwith arms and ammunition to raise funds for militant groups and added that a number of consignments have been seized and strict action is being taken against the involved persons.
