Gusto abounds as District Kathua schools celebrate Teachers’ Day

Kathua: Teachers’ Day was celebrated with zest and zeal across Schools, colleges, and educational institutions of district Kathua on Tuesday.
A Multitude of events highlighting the significance of a teacher and their invaluable contributions towards society were organized in the institutions of the district.
The day at the schools commenced with special assemblies paying homage to the illustrious Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, India’s first Vice-President and the second President who was not only a scholar and philosopher but also a distinguished teacher. Teacher’s day is celebrated every year on his birth anniversary as a heartfelt tribute to his legacy.
The faculty and students across schools of Kathua shed light on the life and teachings of Dr. Radhakrishnan through speeches. Later in the day, the students performed role play with their respective teachers.
The students also participated in activities such as poster making, writing poems, and drawing inspired by their teachers and the life of Dr. Radhakrishnan.
An array of activities such as Integrity pledges, impactful rallies to uphold honesty and reaffirming the commitment to combat corruption were also organised as part of ongoing BhrashtacharMukt J&K Abhiyan.
Besides, speeches, debates, essay writing competitions, cultural programs, games, singing, and dancing competitions along with felicitation of teachers were organised.
In the heartwarming addition to the celebrations, ADC Kathua Ranjeet Singh addressed the students at the District Level Teachers’ Day function organised at Govt. Boys HSS Kathua. His words resonated with the importance of teachers as torch bearers of knowledge and values, shaping the destinies of young minds. He acknowledged the pivotal role of teachers in molding the career of students through the light of education.
Addressing the students, CEO Kathua P.L. Thapa, congratulated the teaching community on the occasion and thanked them for their contribution to building a civilized society. He said that from imparting invaluable knowledge and making learning fun to guiding one towards the right path, a teacher’s contribution to one’s life is unmatched. The officer said that Teachers’ Day is celebrated on September 5 to honor educators and recognize the effort that they put into shaping young minds. The day serves as an opportunity to show gratitude to the teachers and educators who play an important role in shaping the future of their students. Besides providing knowledge and values, teachers guide us through challenges and strengthen our foundation. Teachers shape our future and act as an inspiration for many of us.
Many students presented their teachers with heartfelt notes, handmade cards, and other gifts. The day was also marked by remembering all the great teachers that have left a mark and inspired generations with their work.
