Though political leaders are both morally and politically duty bound to think about the well being of people but they are never ever at liberty to promise heavens which they can’t give them in short time due to political and administrative compulsions developing from time to time during the years they wield power and authority.
Cuts in power tariff rates, prices of essential commodities and the likes are fast changing the current understanding of the people about happiness and well-being almost in all the states and union territories of the country. Though people in bureaucracy and media wonder about the spread of this new trend across the country including Jammu & Kashmir but political parties hardly bother about questions being asked on politics of freebies as political leaders themselves know that they have not to answer the questions before or after the elections but hoodwink the people right in the election times. With this the spirit of happiness and well-being has lost it’s real meaning. This new narrative of happiness and well being won’t just spoil the basic spirits of value based politics but would bring miseries instead of relief and respite to the people as it would deprives almost everyone of the right to live well, be well and do well for both their own future and as well as the future of the youth. Since a good life means right to livelihoods, career progression and above all accessibility to basic social services, it is for the people to understand the political leaders before they misunderstand them . Since experiences have shown that politics of freebies does not last long as finally pockets of the people determined by the kind of livelihoods they have show their capacity to have access to all the basic human needs.

“Knowing that excitement, enthusiasm and elation has no place in the value based politics; the political leaders would do a great service to the humanity if they propagate the politics of possibilities to show people the real world of happiness. Since human ethics in embedded in truthfulness, it is for the political leaders to shun the politics of exploitation and appeasement. The basic spirit of human ethics reminds political leaders of their duty to show people the roadmap and pathway to a good and happy life and they won’t fulfill this sacred duty without developing feelings of calm, balance and harmony among the people”.

As political leaders are there to show people the ways to a purposeful and a meaningful life, better for them to show people the right pathways to a sustainable life even if it does not suit their own political conveniences in election times. Though political leaders are both morally and politically duty bound to think about the well being of people but they are never ever at liberty to promise heavens which they can’t give them in short time due to political and administrative compulsions developing from time to time during the years they wield power and authority. Knowing that excitement, enthusiasm and elation has no place in the value based politics; the political leaders would do a great service to the humanity if they propagate the politics of possibilities to show people the real world of happiness. Since human ethics in embedded in truthfulness, it is for the political leaders to shun the politics of exploitation and appeasement. The basic spirit of human ethics reminds political leaders of their duty to show people the roadmap and pathway to a good and happy life and they won’t fulfill this sacred duty without developing feelings of calm, balance and harmony among the people.
