Digital Week Celebrations 2023: DC inaugurates Mega Digital Mela at B’pora

DC Launches 'PARVAAZ' Mobile App; says 200 plus Citizen Centric Services available through online mode in the distt

Bandipora: In an initiative towards digital empowerment, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad on Thursday inaugurated a spectacular Mega Digital Mela at Bandipora, which is being conducted as a part of Digital Week Celebrations 2023.
The event marked the launch of the ‘PARVAAZ’ mobile application, designed by District Administration Bandipora, a pioneer platform to provide easy access to government schemes and services for the people of District Bandipora.
The event witnessed the participation of government officials, including ADDC Bandipora Ali Afsar Khan, Nodal Officer Coordination Mohammad Ashraf Hakak, JD Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, educationists, senior citizens, technology enthusiasts and media personnel.
The Mega Digital Mela featured 35 informative workshops/stalls and demonstrations aimed at enhancing digital literacy among attendees.
The DC, during the inaugural ceremony, expressed his enthusiasm for the objectives of the mega event. He stated that the Mega Digital Week is our commitment to embrace technological progress and to improve various sectors of our society. He said that presently, there are more than 200 citizen centric services available through online mode in the district.
Dr Owais said that the weeklong event shall foster digital literacy, encourage the utilization of e-governance services and promote transparency in governance.
He further said that the Digital Week serves as a platform for knowledge-sharing, networking, and collaboration among the stakeholders of technology and innovation. With stress on encouraging entrepreneurship and fostering digital literacy, the event aims to position Bandipora as a hub of technological advancement in the region, he added.
The main highlight of the event was the launch of the ‘PARVAAZ’ mobile application, which serves as a one-stop solution for citizens of Bandipora to access a wide array of government initiatives and services. The application features an intuitive user interface that simplifies the process of navigating through the various services, making it accessible even to those with limited technological proficiency.
Dr Owais, on the occasion flagged-off the vibrant and interactive School Education Jhanki, designed to replicate a digital classroom atmosphere. The jhanki provided an immersive experience of the potential of digital technology in revolutionizing the traditional education system.
A van playing awareness Jingles was also flagged-off on the occasion to impart digital literacy across different markets and regions of the district.
Meanwhile, the DC inspected stalls set up by various departments to showcase their achievements in the digital world. The event brought together a multitude of digital exhibitors, including startups, tech companies, and educational institutions.
During the program, a musical band led by Rapper Aashu played different songs that enthralled the audience. The songs depicting the new digital era were also played on the occasion, thereby imparting digital literacy in a unique and versatile manner to the audience
It was given out that the week-long event will continue to feature workshops, seminars, and panel discussions, providing attendees, especially the student community, with opportunities to develop the understanding of digital innovation and its implications for various sectors.
It was also given out that District has set a target of saturating the usage of digital applications like DigiLocker and Mobile Dost.
