Srinagar : SSP Shopian Tanushree along with DySP Hqrs Shopian Javed Ahmad paid obeisance at Tirth Raj Kapal Mochan, the oldest Shiva temple nestled on the banks of Rambiara Nallah in Shopian district and joined the Kashmiri Pandits in their annual Kapal Mochan Shradh here on Tuesday. This revered site holds immense importance as thousands of Kashmiri Pandits annually flock here for religious observances, including Shraad ceremonies.
According to a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar, during the visit, SSP Shopian and DySP Hqrs Shopian engaged with the devoted Pandits at the temple, sharing prayers for peace and prosperity of Shopian in particular and the entire valley in general. The visiting Pandits expressed deep gratitude and joy, praising Shopian police for facilitating their pilgrimage and providing essential support.
Yatris after interacting with Police officers said that during the yatra, Muslim neighbours provided them milk, vegetables and other eatables. They also thanked the Shopian Police especially efforts of SSP Shopian for having made extraordinary arrangements of security, support and love for the smooth conduct of the yatra.
