Srinagar: Police on Saturday said that it has solved a burglary case by arresting an accused for being involved in the commission of crime and recovered stolen property from his possession in south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that on August 24 Police Station Shopian received a written compliant from one Junaid-ul-Islam S/o Mohd Yaqoob Shah R/o Kapren Shopian who alleged therein that during the intervening night of 23rd and 24th August some unknown burglars stole a Generator, Vibrator, Steel shuttering boards from the trading construction Company at Habdipora, adding therein that a case vide FIR No.148/2023 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Shopian and investigation was subsequently initiated.
Police in its statement further said that during the course of investigation, a police party led by SHO Police Station Shopian developed human/technical inputs and zeroed in on some suspects for questioning and during questioning, one accused identified as Imran Ahmad Wani S/o Ab Hai Wani R/o Tak Mohalla Shopian confessed his involvement in the commission of crime, adding therein that on the disclosure of the said accused stolen property worth lacs were recovered from his possession. Stating that the Vehicle (Tata Mobile) bearing registration number JK22C-0380 used in the commission of crime was also seized in the instant case and further investigation into the case is underway, Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement said that people of the area have lauded it’s efforts in cracking/solving the case. Police on this occasion resolved to act tough against individuals involved in any kind of criminal activities and urged eople to take all possible measures to curb the drug menace from the society.
