Jt. Dir Tourism Jammu extends open invitation to experience spiritual serenity of Tirupati Balaji Temple at Majeen Sidhra

Jammu: To experience captivating fusion of spiritual reverence and cultural appreciation, Joint Director Tourism Jammu Sunaina Sharma Mehta has extended open invitation to all visitors coming to Jammu region especially Katra town to visit the Holy Shrine of Tirupati Balaji at Majeen Sidhra.
While embarking on a momentous pilgrimage to the revered Tirupati Balaji Temple at Majeen Sidhra, she asserted that with the addition of this revered Temple to the ‘City of Temples’, which shall act as a connecting bridge between the existing realms of tourism and religious heritage, creating an inviting space for all visitors to experience the divine aura of this sacred place.
Nestled in the heart of Jammu at Majeen Sidhra, the Tirupati Balaji Temple has been a recognizable symbol of faith, cultural richness and religious heritage since ages. At the temple, on every Friday after Suprabhatha Seva, the regular Thomala and Archana Sevas are undertaken in privacy and then ‘Srivari Abhishekam’ is observed. This happens to be the most ancient Arjitha Seva that is being observed in the hill shrine of Lord Venkateswara. The weekly ceremony of ‘Srivari Abhishekam’is piously undertaken every Friday with special offerings of ‘Sandalwood’, ‘Coconut Water’, ‘Milk’ and other venerated offerings are made to the Lord Venkateshwara. On this auspicious occasion, the temple’s venerable priests extended a warm welcome to Sunaina Mehta and others. With the religious sanctity and environment around, the priests guided her through the hallowed precincts of the temple, sharing spiritual insights and recounting its deep-rooted historical significance. As they traversed the temple’s sacred grounds, the surroundings were immersed in the spiritual ambiance, with its recognizable role as a beacon of faith and cultural heritage in the region.
Mehta, deeply moved by the experience, expressed her deep gratitude to the temple’s custodians and the priests. She conveyed her unwavering commitment to advancing initiatives that celebrate the spiritual, culturaland historical opulence of Jammu region. Her visit served as a significant reminder of the importance for preserving sacred and cultural treasures, fostering an environment where tourists and devotees alike can connect with the profound spiritual heritage of this land. She reiterated the commitment of the Department towards promotion of tourist destinations around Jammu region especially pilgrimage sites and circuits, Border Tourism, adventure sites and circuits and offbeat tourist destinations. The Department has been vigorously organizing promotional events across Jammu region to lay emphasis on the varied tourism products of this region especially pilgrimage Circuits, beautiful locales, adventure circuits, sites and adventure activities, Border Tourism et al.
She further extended an open invitation to people from all walks of life to seek blessings at the TirupathiBalaji Temple and be a part of this blissful spiritual experience.The Joint Director Tourism also stated that this iconic temple is not merely a place of worship; it is a repository of our cultural and spiritual heritage. She encouraged the visitors to explore the spiritual and cultural richness of Jammu, inviting them to delve deeper into the region’s heritage and pilgrimage venerated sites and holy temples, further establishing Jammu as the ‘City of Temple’.
This visit by Mehta on the occasion of weekly ‘Srivari Abhishekam’ stands as a testament to the enduring connection between tourism and spirituality in Jammu. reaffirming the region’s unwavering commitment towards promotion of Pilgrimage sites of Jammu and establishing it on the International Pilgrimage Map for believers from all across the globe. Visitors now have a golden opportunity to explore and appreciate the vibrant tapestry of varied traditions of worshipping and pilgrimage experiences in Jammu region.
The Tirupati Balaji Temple in Jammu, dedicated to Lord Venkateswara, an incarnation of Vishnu, stands as a magnificent tribute to India’s spiritual heritage. Modeled after the famed Tirumala Venkateswara Temple in Andhra Pradesh, it is managed by the Tirumala TirupatiDevasthanams (TTD).
