Police carries Wild Cannabis destruction drive in G’bal

Srinagar: Police on Wednesday said that on the directions of SSP Ganderbal Nikhil Borka, it has carried out destruction drive of wild Cannabis cultivation on massive scale across the district.
According to statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar the drive was carried out by Police Parties led by SHOs of Police Stations & IC PPs along with the teams of Revenue & Excise Department and Irrigation & Flood Control besides, respectable citizens also participated in the destruction drive with fervour and enthusiasm.
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement police said that the people of the area have widely appreciated the action taken by it and assured their full cooperation in future to eradicate the drug menace from the society. Police on this occasion appealed people to come forward with any information regarding cultivation of contrabands in their neighbourhood and warned that people found indulging in drug peddling & cultivation of contraband substances shall be dealt as per law.
