2 LeT militant associates arrested in Sopore: Police

Srinagar : Police on Friday said that it along with security forces have arrested 2 militant associates linked with LeT militant outfit and also recovered two grenades and eight Pistol rounds and other incriminating materials from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that Police squads along with Army (52RR) at a joint checkpoint established at Sher Colony Tarzoo intercepted two suspicious persons identified as Manzoor Ahmad Bhat S/o Ab. Rashid Bhat and Tanveer Ahmad Lone S/o Gh. Mohd Lone, both residents of Darnambal Tarzoo, who on seeing the joint party tried to flee from the spot but were apprehended tactfully, adding therein that the said accused are associated with LeT militant outfit.
Stating that during searches two Grenades and eight Pistol rounds and other incriminating materials were recovered from the possession of the said militant associates, Police in it’s above referred statement further said a case vide FIR No. 78/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered at the concerned police station and further investigation has also been initiated into the case.
