Jammu: Police on Thursday said that it has devised a multi-pronged strategy in which police teams of Police Station Akhnoor, Police Post Pounichak, Police Post Phallain Mandal and Police Post Jourian acted stringently on the specific inputs and raided certain locations in their respective area.
Stating that seven vehicles involved in illegal mining were seized besides which one Tractor trolley bearing registration no JK02DE 6506, One tractor trolley bearing Chasis No MBNGAALDBNRD03854, by PP Pounichak, 4 vehicles i.e One tractor trolley bearing chasis no. MBNBG55AELCN06124, one tractor trolley bearing chasis no. MBNBG55AEMCB12199, one Tractor bearing chasis no. MBNBG55AEMA09375 and one Tractor Trolley without Registration No were seized by Police Post Phallian Mandal, Police in it’s statement further said that one tractor trolley without Registration No by Police Post Jourian were also seized.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Jammu Police said that the recoveries were made by SHO Police Station Akhnoor Inspr Zaheer Mushtaq, I/C PP Pounichak PSI Nitish Khajuria, I/C Police Post Phallain Mandal PSI Ajesh Singh Jamwal and I/C Police Post Jourian PSI Karnail Singh in their respective jurisdictions. Meanwhile, the DMO Jammu, according to the above referred police statement, was also intimated about the same.
Police in it’s above quoted statement furthermore said that the mining was done in violation of order of High Court of J&K, adding therein that in order to strictly implement the drive against illegal mining and to tighten noose against the violators of the law, Jammu Police has initiated strict action.
