AKAM: Cultural Unit Kashmir, DIPR organises Patriotic Cultural Event at B’gam

Srinagar: Celebrating the 76 years of Independence, Cultural Unit Kashmir, Department of Information and Public Relations J&K and District Information Centre Budgam on Saturday organised a colourful cultural program under the theme “Mera Bharat Mahan” at Sheikh-ul-Alam Hall Budgam.
The programme was presided over by Chief Education Officer, Budgam, Rumana Qazi while as District Information Officer, Budgam, Erim Aziz was Guest of Honor on the occasion.
Students from Girls High School, Khansahab performed a traditional Kashmiri rouf; students from Boys Higher Secondary School, Chadoora presented a skit on “Nasha Mukt Bharat” as a message to safeguard our young generation from drug abuse menace.
Pertinent to mention, renowned artists of Shahkaar Cultural Society, Srinagar, performed a short play “Milchaar” to inculcate sense of patriotism and communal harmony among youths.
Speaking on the occasion, CEO, Rumana Qazi appreciated the organisers for holding such events for awareness generation on various sensitive issues and awareness of youngsters regarding patriotism and harmony.
Speaking on the occasion, DIO Budgam said that such patriotic theme based programs prove to be more impressive to create an environment of festivity; instil spirit of unity among youth and promote integrity of nation.
She lauded the efforts of Cultural Unit Kashmir, DIPR for spreading peace, brotherhood and patriotic spirit among the youth.
The programme was moderated by Assistant Information Officer, Budgam, Liyaqat Ali Mir. Presenting vote of thanks, AECO Cultural Unit, Syed Shakeel Shan said that the youth of valley are very talented in terms of art, literature and music. Cultural Unit Kashmir always welcomes the entry of budding artists on bigger platforms, he added.
Later, a felicitation ceremony was held where artisans and other participants were felicitated for their exemplary performances.
Meanwhile, Cultural Unit Kashmir conducted Nukkad Natak and cultural program at GHSS Delina Baramulla where artists of Justice Visual Arts performed a short play while as students presented patriotic songs and skits.
