Srinagar/Sept,24: A militant was killed in an encounter between the militants government forces continuing since early morning today in Kalghi area of Uri in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, police said.
Unconfirmed reports said that three militants are believed to be trapped in the area.
An official said that forces cordoned off the area after receiving inputs about the presence of militants.
“As they reached the suspected spot, the militants opened fire,” he said, adding that the forces retaliated.
“During search op, #terrorists opened fire. Villagers entrapped in gun battle rescued. 1 terrorist killed so far. Operation is still on.”
