DIC Kulgam, Cultural Unit Kashmir of DIPR organize Nukkad Natak & Painting Competition

Kulgam : As part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ and under the banner of ‘Meri Maati, Mera Desh’ campaign, the District Information Centre (DIC) Kulgam in collaboration with Cultural Unit Kashmir of Department of Information and Public Relations, J&K and Cultural Wing of CEO Office, Kulgam on Wednesday organized Nukad Natak and painting competition at Lance Naik, Nazir Ahmad Wani, Boys Model Higher Secondary School, Kulgam.
The programme was presided over by District Information Officer (DIO) Kulgam, Showkat Hussain Ganie.
Principal, Abdul Qayoom Wani, Cultural Coordinator, Mohd Jabar, staff members of school and a large gathering of students attended the programme.
The student group of the school presented patriotic songs during the programme which was lauded by the audience.
25 students of the school also participated in the painting competition wherein Rasikh Arsheed Khanday, Kamran Irshad, Rakeeb Mehraj bagged Ist, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.
Artists from Yadgar Arts and Music Theatre, Kulgam performed Nukad Natak and skit on National unity, brotherhood, drug Addiction, developmental scenario and other issues. The dramatic performances of the artists enthralled the audience, and were appreciated by the students.
The artists explained to the children through their live performances how to save the society from drugs and other social evils.
Speaking on the occasion, DIO thanked the school management for their support in organizing the program and maintained that more such theme based programs will be organized under the banner of ‘Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav.
Principal of the school appreciated the initiative of the Information Department for organizing the event and said that the fight against social evils, especially narcotics is the need of the hour. Later, mementos, prizes and certificates were distributed among the participants.
