Better coordination between Deptts & Media required to make ‘MMMD campaign’ a grand success: DC Pulwama

Pulwama: For successful implementation of ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Dr. Basharat Qayoom on Monday convened an interaction session with media persons at Circuit House Pulwama.
During the interaction session, detailed discussions were held to ensure better coordination between the District Administration and media agencies to facilitate timely coverage of events under the ‘Meri Matti Mera Desh’ campaign.
Five events under the campaign including events of Deep Dive-Silaphalakam, Vasudha Vandhan (planting 75 saplings), Veeron Ka Vandan, Hoisting of National Flag, Singing of Rashtra Gaan (National Anthem) and Panch Pran Pledge were discussed in detail during the meeting.
The timeline of various events starting from 9th of August, 2023 were elaborated in the meeting for prompt response and media coverage by the media fraternity. Similarly, the events happening under JJM fortnightly and Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav were elaborated for proper attention of media agencies.
The DC said the “Meri Maati Mera Desh” campaign is an integral part of the concluding ceremonies of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and its central focus revolves around “Soil,” symbolizing the essence and unity of the nation. He further added that the campaign is aimed to collect Soil from every Panchayat across the district and later the same will travel to Delhi, to pay homage to the valiant heroes.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that both the print and electronic media are playing a vital role in effective implementation of nationwide campaigns of Meri Maati Mera Desh, Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Jal Jeevan fortnight campaigns. He said that journalists should be aware of welfare schemes and government programmes so that they can report anomalies effectively which will ultimately help the public at large.
The DC said that the objective of holding such interaction sessions is to ensure that the information regarding the various developmental activities in the district can be disseminated in an effective manner so that the benefit of different government schemes percolate down to the common masses.
The DC further instructed the various line departments of administration to produce the calendar of events to be undertaken during the campaign Meri Maati Mera Desh- Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav with District Information Officer Pulwama so that the coverage of events is shared with the public of District Pulwama.
Suggestions were also sought from the media persons in addressing the various problems being faced by them in connection with the coverage, collection and dissemination of information pertaining to day-to-day events in the district. DC listened to the demands and issues of media persons and assured them of all possible help from administration in this regard.
Media fraternity hailed the initiative of conducting such thoughtful interactions and voiced that this will help them in proper recording and timely reporting of events.
At the conclusion, the DC assured that such types of media interactions will be held in future also.
