Agri Deptt signs MoU with GCoE Srinagar for starting Skill enhancement courses under PMKYY & NEP-2020

Srinagar: In an important step towards the skill enhancement of the educated youth and students, the Agriculture department Kashmir on Monday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Government College of Education (GCoE), IASE, M. A Road Srinagar, for starting of skill enhancement courses under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKYY) & NEP 2020.
The MOU was signed between Chowdhury Mohammad Iqbal the Director Agriculture Kashmir and prof. (Dr) Seems Naz, Principal GCoE, M.A Road Srinagar.
Speaking on the occasion, the Director Agriculture Kashmir observed that the signing of MoU with the said Educational institution will provide Agriculture department an opportunity to reach out to the students and make them understand the skill based interventions in the agriculture and allied sectors.
He said with the help of this initiative the Agriculture department would be able to incorporate agri-skills among the students, which on one hand will make them acquainted with the basic agriculture activities and on the other hand will increase the employability among the students in agriculture and allied fields.
Iqbal said the agri-skilled educated youth could play vital role in the development of agriculture sector in the region and could contribute to the economic scenario of the valley. He said the main aim is to make our educated youth job providers not the job seekers.
Principal GCoE, M.A Road Srinagar also expressed her views and marked the importance of signing the MoU with the agriculture department for the overall benefit of students. She said that she was looking forward to seeing learners who could access skilled employment opportunities in agriculture and allied sectors.
Dr. Nazir Ahmed Bhat HOD Education, coordinator skill courses GCoE, Shiekh Imran Chief Technical Officer Agriculture Department Kashmir, Dr. Arif Bashir GCoE, Sabina Khan Associate Law Officer Agriculture Department Kashmir were also present on the occasion.
