Weekly Block Diwas: DC B’pora tours Naidkhai area; holds Public Outreach Prog; Listens to public issues

Bandipora : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad on Wednesday presided over Block Diwas at Naidkhai Sumbal to take direct feedback on implementation of government initiatives, schemes, and developmental scenario of the area.
With a motive to listen to public issues and resolve bottlenecks faced by the departments in the execution of developmental projects, Dr Owais on Wednesday conducted an extensive tour of the Naidkhai area of the Sumbal subdivision.
A large number of gatherings, including men and women, besides senior citizens, participated in the block diwas at higher secondary school Naidkhai, wherein they projected their demands before the DC.
On the occasion, Dr. Owais was accorded warm welcome by the locals and expressed their gratitude for considering their village for Public Darbar and providing a platform to directly communicate with the authorities.
The programme was attended by Additional District Development Commisioner Bandipora Ali Afsar Khan, District Nodal Officer Coordination Mohammad Ashraf Hakak, SDM Sumbal Amir Choudhary, JDP Imtiyaz Ahmad, Executive Engineers from PHE, PDD and R&B, BDO Hajin besides concerned officials and officers.
During the program, the DC held interactive sessions with the villagers, where he patiently listened to their grievances and suggestions.
The locals on the occasion raised issues related to birm filling on Naidkhai Markundal road, development of inner links of the area, earth filling of Government middle school Gundijahangir, completion of hospital building at Gundi Jahangir, desiliting of Nallah Malachak, upgradation of drainage system, settlement of compensation for PMGSY road of Gundijahangir, skill development center at Naidkhai, rationalisation of ICDS centers, Encroachment issues on state land, segregated power feeder for irrigation and flood control schemes, drinking water supply and a special Ambulance for Naidkhai area.
Dr. Owais assured the villagers that their concerns and feedback would be diligently analyzed, and appropriate actions would be taken to address them. He reiterated that the district administration is committed to transparent and accountable governance.
The DC assured public representatives of the area that the administration will settle all their genuine demands and regular monitoring will be there to meet their demands.
Meanwhile, the DC stressed the significance of community participation in the development process. He urged the villagers to actively engage in the formulation and execution of local development plans and assured them of full support from the administration in their endeavors.
Dr. Owais took on spot response from the officers of the various departments and directed them for the submission of proposal for the settlement of the demands raised by the public at Naidkhai. Bottlenecks and issues in the execution of ongoing developmental projects were cleared instantly in consultation with the locals in the presence of executing agencies.
