Srinagar: Police on Tuesday said that it alongwith security forces arrested two militant associates linked with LeT militant outfit at Chak Tapper area of Kreeri Baramulla and recovered arms , ammunition and other incriminating materials from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that while acting on specific inputs regarding movement of militants in the Village of Chak Tapper Kreeri, a police party alongwith Army (29 RR) established a motor vehicle checking point (MVCP) at Bus Stop Chak Tapper Kreeri and druing checking intercepted and arrested two suspecteds who on noticing the checkpoint tried to flee from the spot but were apprehended tactfully.
Stating that during the personal search of the said suspects, arms and ammunition including 2 Chinese Pistols, 2 Pistol Magazines, 14 live Pistol rounds and other incriminating materials were recovered from their possession, Police in it’s above referred statement further said that the said accused wereidentified as Dayem Majeed Khan S/o Ab Majeed Khan R/o Check Panjigam Bandipora and Ubair Tariq S/o Tariq Ahmad Khan R/o Watrina Phalwanpora Panjigam Bandipora.
Police in its statement further said “during preliminary questioning, the arrested duo revealed that they were working as militant associates of LeT militant outfit and had acquired arms & ammunition for target killing in District Baramulla”, adding therein that “police later accordingly registered a case under relevant sections of law at Police Station Kreeri and initiated further investigation into the case”.
