GDC Kishtwar Students participate in Mathematics Training & Talent Search Prog

Kishtwar: A group of six talented students from the Mathematics department, under the guidance and recommendation of Dr. Madhu Ram, Head of the Department of Mathematics, GDC Kishtwar recently participated in the esteemed “Initiation into Mathematics (InitMath) 2023” event organized by Jammu & Kashmir Institute of Mathematical Sciences (JKIMS), Srinagar, as part of the Mathematics Training and Talent Search Programme (MTTS).
The event, which took place from July 10th to 18th, 2023, witnessed the students successfully completing the intensive nine-day training program and returning to the college with certificates of participation.
The MTTS program is designed to nurture and develop the mathematical talent among the young minds, providing them with an opportunity to deepen their understanding of mathematics and explore advanced mathematical concepts. Under the patronage of Dr. Jyoti Parihar, the esteemed Principal of GDC Kishtwar, the students were granted approval to participate in this prestigious event.
Upon their return to the college, Dr. Jyoti Parihar engaged the participants in a thoughtful discussion, wherein the students shared their experiences and insights gained during the MTTS event. The Principal expressed her delight with their active participation and commendable performance throughout the program. She also recognized the efforts of the Mathematics department in mentoring and guiding the students to achieve such milestones.
Impressed by the potential benefits of participating in such programs, Dr. Jyoti Parihar encouraged the students to inspire their juniors and fellow peers about the advantages of participating in similar events. She emphasized the importance of nurturing a strong mathematical foundation and applauded the students’ enthusiasm in pursuing further opportunities in the field of mathematics.
The Mathematics Training and Talent Search Programme not only enhances students’ problem-solving skills but also nurtures critical thinking, logical reasoning, and a deeper appreciation for the subject. It empowers students to excel in their academic pursuits and opens doors to various research and career opportunities in mathematics.
GDC Kishtwar takes pride in its commitment to providing its students with enriching experiences and exposure to opportunities that foster holistic development. The institution remains dedicated to nurturing future mathematicians and scholars who will contribute significantly to the advancement of mathematics and its applications.
