Jammu: Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) on Tuesday declared its strong opposition to installation of smart meters. In this regard, DPAP at the office bearers meeting here today which was chaired by Vice-Chairman GM Saroori, who said that Jammu and Kashmir has suffered for more than 33 years due to militancy and the people have turned paupers as economy stands at the lowest ebb. “DPAP will oppose installation of smart meters tooth and nail as people of J&K have suffered economically in 33 years of militancy with the result our economy has crumbled and the capacity to bear costly electricity bills has withered,” said Saroori.
