Poonch authorities seize 5 vehicles involved in illegal transportation of minor minerals

Poonch: A coordinated effort of the Police and Mining Department led to seizure of five vehicles involved in the illegal transportation of minor minerals here in the Poonch district.
The operation was carried out under the direction of Deputy Commissioner, Yasin M. Choudhary and in the presence of District Mining Officer Javid Iqbal.
The joint operation was aimed at to curb the illegal transportation of minor minerals and tighten the noose around the perpetrators. Two tippers and one JCB were seized in Behramgala and one dumper and one tipper were seized in Potha by a joint team of the Police and Mining Department.
The vehicles were handed over to the police for safe custody.
The DMO Javid Iqbal warned that such illegal activities would not be tolerated and that those found guilty would be punished as per the law. He further urged the public to cooperate with the authorities in their efforts to protect the environment and ensure sustainable development.
