Div Com, ADGP Jammu review I’-Day arrangements in distts

Jammu: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar along with Additional Director General of Police Mukesh Singh on Saturday reviewed the arrangements for the Independence Day- 2023 celebrations in the districts of the Division at a meeting of Deputy Commissioners and Heads of different Departments.
At the Outset, ADC Jammu apprised the Div Com about the arrangements made for the main function at Jammu being held in the M A Stadium, Jammu.
Sensitizing the officers about their role and responsibilities, the Div Com instructed to ensure that all arrangements are made in advance for smooth conduct of the celebrations in all the districts.
Threadbare discussion was held on the important issues like security arrangements, traffic, illumination of offices, PAS, provision of Power and water at function venues, sanitation, medicare facilities, contingents, cultural activities and the concerned officers were given instructions regarding the related arrangements to be made for smooth conduct of National event.
The Health department was instructed to deploy a team of doctors and ambulance at the venue, while other departments were meet their responsibilities at the appropriate time
It was decided that the contingents of J&K Police, Armed, CRPF, Lady Contingents, Home Guard, Fire & Emergency Services and Forest Protection Force shall participate in the march past with the band.
The Div Com asked the Director School Education and J&K Cultural Academy to finalise cultural items and start the rehearsals at the earliest.
The Commissioner JMC was told to make arrangements for sanitation, water tanker and mobile toilet facilities at the main venue and the practice venues.
While reviewing arrangements in the districts, the concerned DCs apprised the Div Com about the arrangements being put in place for ensuring smooth celebration of the national event.
Emphasizing the importance of timely preparedness, the Div Com directed the Deputy Commissioners to put in place all necessary arrangements well in time. He further asked them to ensure smooth celebrations at Subdivisions, Block and Panchayat level as well.
He asked DCs to ensure the hoisting of the national flag on every Government building and schools in all the districts.
The ADGP directed the SSPs to make fool-proof security arrangements to ensure hassle-free celebrations at all the venues by formulating deployment plans well in advance.
The meeting was attended by DIGs of BSF, CRPF, JK Armed Police, Commissioner JMC, Additional Deputy Commissioner Jammu, SSP Traffic, SSP Security, Chief Engineers of JPDCL, PWD, Directors of School Education, Floriculture, Joint Director Information, Joint Director Hospitality & Protocol, besides senior functionaries of CRPF, Sport Council, Youth Services & Sports, culture academy, JKRTC, Fire Services, NCC and other concerned departments while Deputy Commissioners, SSPs participated in the meeting through video conferencing.
