DDC Pulwama reviews pace of progress achieved on works under CAPEX Budget 2023-24

Pulwama: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Pulwama, Dr. Basharat Qayoom on Friday chaired a review meeting of the district officers at circuit house Pulwama to review the pace of progress achieved on different works under the District Capex Budget 2023-24.
Chief Planning Officer, Pulwama, Shahnawaz Ahmad Khan informed the chair that against total 2460 proposed works, 2275 have been tendered, out of which 637 have been allotted under PRI, BDC, and DDC Plan, and till date five number of works have been completed.
It was further informed that Rs 2626.78 lacs stands released by the Finance department against the approved budget of Rs 5428.5 lacs.
Taking review of the works taken up under this year’s CAPEX, the DDC stressed upon the concerned officers to complete the process of tendering by ending July and within two days the allotted works shall start on ground besides this the ongoing works shall be completed within 15 days.
He stressed upon officers to ensure 100 percent expenditure in the set time line by accelerating the pace of the works scheduled for completion during the current year.
The DDC further directed that uniform utilization of funds shall be ensured across the financial year without waiting for last quarter of the year. It must be ensured that all the procurement related works are completed by the ending July after fulfilment of all Codal formalities and procurement rules.
The DDC further directed that any land issue facing in starting the works on ground shall be submitted to ACR within five days so that same is resolved at an earliest.
Regarding the monitoring and verification of works it was informed in the meeting that 1463 works completed up to year 2021-22 under District sector, have been physically verified by Dist. Statistics & Evaluation Officer Pulwama and observations wherever noticed have been submitted online to Finance Department similarly for 1759 works completed last year, the process of collection of documents is underway.
Dr Basharat instructed the officers that all the work wise documents of previous year works shall be submitted so that verification of works is completed in time.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Pulwama, Superintending Engineer, R&B, Hydraulic, KPDCL Pulwama, CEO Pulwama, CMO Pulwama, Executive Officers of all the Municipalities besides ACD attended the meeting along with Exen. REW and all the BDO’s.
