JKCA appoints Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) for 2023-24

Jammu: The Sub-Committee, JKCA has reappointed Abdul Qayoom and Dr. Roopali Slathia, both reputed former National First Class Cricketers as Members Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) for the season 2023-24. With this, the process for further selection , of the Selectors of different age groups namely the Senior Men Selection Committee, Junior Selection Committee Men, Senior Selection Committee Women and Junior Selection Committee Women has been set in motion by the JKCA .
The applications for the same have been received and the same will now be placed before the Cricket Advisory Committee who will interview and shortlist the suitable candidates. After the selection of the various Selection Committees, the process of selecting Coaches and Support Staff for the various teams of JKCA will commence.
This year the Sub-Committee , JKCA has completely overhauled the system of trials and camps with the introduction of deep selection camps, physical fitness camps, skill specific camps , pre-season camps and the preparatory camps. JKCA calendar unlike the previous years began in the month of April itself with holding of Talent Hunt Camps. So far (April July) JKCA has held three deep selection camps, three physical fitness camps, three skill specific camps and six pre season camps and 17 camps are proposed to be held, stated Brig. Anil Gupta ( Retd.) , Member Administration, JKCA.
The JKCA Senior Men’s Team for the first time will be participating in Buchi Babu All India Invitation Cricket Tournament 2023-24 conducted by Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA). It’s a multi day tournament and 12 teams are participating in the tournament, asserted Mithun Manhas, Member Cricket Operations & Development, JKCA. Pertinently, Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) team will be leaving on 17th of August, 2023, to participate in the tournament .
