Srinagar: A traffic cop was among three persons killed in a fatal mishap involving crash of multiple vehicles in Tengpora locality in central Kashmir’s Srinagar locality, officials said here. Meanwhile Lt Governor Manoj Sinha has expressed grief over the road accident deaths and directed the authorities to ensure all possible assistance to bereaved families.
Officials that a three-wheeler (Auto) , a tipper and a Maruti Car crashed, resulting in death of three persons and injuries to several others.
Among the killed persons included a traffic cop identified as Zahoor Ashraf resident of Pattan Baramulla, they said. Confirming it, a senior police officer said hat they have taken cognizance of the incident.
Meanwhile Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has expressed grief and shock over the tragic road accident in Srinagar in which one SPO Sh Zahoor Ahmad Khan and a civilian lost their lives.
In a condolence message, the Lt Governor said, “Anguished by the loss of lives due to a tragic road accident in Srinagar. My thoughts are with the families who have lost their loved ones. Praying for the speedy recovery of those injured. I pay my homage to SPO Sh Zahoor Ahmad Khan who lost his life in the line of duty. I have instructed the authorities to provide all necessary assistance to the bereaved families”.
