Srinagar : Police on Tuesday said that it has booked two drug peddlers under PIT-NDPS Act here in Pulwama.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that two drug peddlers identified as Mukhtar Ahmad Wani S/o Gh Mohammad Wani, Javaid Ahmad Sofi S/o Abdul Rehman Sofi, both residents of Gusoo Pulwama have been booked under PIT-NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority, adding therein that the said accused have been subsequently lodged in Central Jail Kot-Balwal Jammu.
Police in it’s statement also said that the both the accused were promoting drug trade by supplying drugs to local youth of Pulwama and other areas of the district, adding therein that despite their involvement in several FIRs, the said accused did not mend their activities and were again involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth.
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement Police warned that it will take strict actions against all anti-social elements and assured people that all possible efforts will be made to eradicate social and other kinds of all evils from the society.
