Srinagar: A blue-eyed Block Medical Officer heading Medical Block Gurez in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district has failed to perform a single surgery during the past 12 years and has remained posted at plum place due to acquaintance with higher officials.
A health official wishing anonymity told Kashmir Horizon that In-charge BMO Bandipora has not performed surgery at the hospital under her leadership. She was never transferred during the past one decade.
The official alleged that not a single Centrally Sponsored Scheme includes Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY). Janani Shishu Suraksha Karyakaram (JSSK). National TB Elimination Program (NTEP). National Leprosy Eradication Programme (NLEP). There is mismanagement in every centre of the block.
The official said that recently the govt appointed a Multi-Purpose Health Worker, or MMPHW for smooth functioning of the block office but she has kept most of them wandering and not as desired by higher ups.
“It is unfortunate that nothing is being done on the ground. The said MMPHW is candidate Qualified and full qualification,” he said.
The in-charge BMO has also has kept a lady FMPHW attached with her who is posted in Tulail block, but she never attends her duties and acts as pa to madam
“Although Govt has put a ban on the appointment of HDF workers. She has appointed so many people as HDF workers and revenue earned by govt through this menace is being utilized not for patient care but for HDF workers’ pay backed politically,” he alleged.
The official appealed LG administration that an investigation should be ordered in this matter, so that deserving candidates will get justice in this matter. Despite repeated attempts Chief Medical Officer Bandipora and Director Health Services Kashmir did not pick up repeated calls from this reporter as their response to the wild allegations emanating from both the people and as well the employees could have been put in public domain for the interest and intervention of the higher authorities of health department in the larger public interests.
