Srinagar: Following the transfer of teachers in Srinagar district of Central Kashmir under order No.103-Edu. 2023 dated. 24-04-2023, where the dept has approved transfer of teachers from their present places of postings.

Sources said that, “As per district wise break up, education department has earmarked 70 teachers of Srinagar district for their transfers and accordingly objections were invited.”

“The CEO Srinagar accordingly constituted a committee in his office to make the transfers as per norm and criteria and the orders were given final touch to issue the orders. But for unknown reasons the CEO Srinagar alongwith his few trustees prepared a 2nd list without re-constituting a committee and by-passing the already list of 70 teachers for transfers,” Sources further said.

One of the locals, Farooq Ahmad, while talking to Kashmir Horizon has said that, “The worse part of it is that only 17 teachers out of 70 approved teachers were included in the 2nd transfer order. The reason of leaving 52 teachers untouched gives a different impression in the public.”

He further said that the pick and choose of just 17 teachers instead of 70 teachers create doubts in the public, adding that, “what prompted the CEO Srinagar to allow 52 teachers at the present places of postings to enjoy being blue eyed or might have paid bribe in lieu of retention.”

“How can one expect an ailing teacher to reach HS New Theed from Hyderpora.
Hope department particularly Director Education Kashmir will look into it personally to address genuine grievances of teachers,” Farooq Ahmad added.
