Kishtwar: DTFI discusses implementation plan for U-Win & Intensified Mission Indradhanush (IMI) 5.0

Kishtwar: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kishtwar, Dr. Devansh Yadav on Friday presided over a meeting of the District Task Force for Immunization (DTFI) to discuss the implementation of U-Win and Intensified Mission Indradhanush (IMI) 5.0 in the district.
The meeting focused on the action plan for successful execution of U-Win and IMI 5.0, with key objectives including reducing drop-outs and addressing the issue of unvaccinated children for Vaccinated preventable diseases especially measles and rubella vaccine. A detailed action plan was discussed to achieve the target of elimination of Measles and Rubella by December 2023, such as organizing of special sessions and outreach camps and maximizing the vaccine coverage .
Dr. M. Y. Mir, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) gave a comprehensive presentation on the operational procedures of these initiatives.
He also informed the meeting that IMI 5.0 will be conducted in three phases from. 07th -12th August (Ist Phase), 11th -16th September (2nd Phase), 09th -14th October (3rd Phase).
The DC emphasized the importance of vaccinating children residing in slum areas and brick kilns besides holding special camps for children of nomadic families living on Upper Reaches, underlining that no child should be left out.
The CMO was further asked to conduct a head count survey of all children age group (0-5yrs) and prepare a robust action plan in consultation with other DTFI members so that all three phases shall be conducted successfully.
The meeting was attended by PO ICDS, Dr. Rishi Sharma; CMO Kishtwar, Dr. M. Y. Mir, CEO Kishtwar, Prehlad Bhagat, MS DH Kishtwar, Dr. Yudhvir Singh Kotwal, Dy. CMO Kishtwar, Dr. Balbir Kumar, District Immunization Officer Dr. Sajjad Hussain, All Block Medical Officers (BMOs), Officials of MC Kishtwar and the staff of the Health Department.
