DC listens to Grievances of PAFs in Dangduru-Dachhan

DC Assures Fair Compensation and Safety Measures for Project-Affected Families of Pakal-Dul Hydroelectric Power Project

Kishtwar : Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Dr. Devansh Yadav, accompanied by a team of officers on Thursday visited the Dangduru area in Dachhan to address the grievances of the Project-Affected families (PAFs) of the Pakal Dul Hydroelectric Power Project.
He was accompanied by Tehsildar Dachhan, R. K. Rathore; Executive Engineer PWD Division Kishtwar, Ravinder Kumar; Executive Engineer PWD Division Marwah, Mohd Aslam Lone, AEEs, CVPPL, and JP Company officials.
Interacting with the PAFs, Dr. Devansh Yadav patiently listened to their concerns regarding timely payment of compensation. He also took note of other issues related to safety provisions.
Assuring them of prompt action, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized that the compensation for the fruit and non-fruit trees has been finalized, and disbursement will start after title verification from Sounder Village onwards.
He further stated that as per the available geologist’s report, unsafe areas will be acquired, and locals will be compensated under the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation, and Resettlement Act 2013, in the ongoing HEP project.
Later, he also inspected the affected houses & directed Tehsildar Dachhan and project authorities to take all the precautionary measures, including minimum emission of dust during the execution work for the safety of the inhabitants of the area.
Addressing the safety concerns of the nearby habitation areas, the Deputy Commissioner directed Tehsildar Dachhan to assess the houses that are unsafe and need immediate shifting through proper assessment and necessary action.
He emphasized that the safety of the inhabitants would be prioritized, and necessary provisions would be made to minimize adverse impacts.
The Deputy Commissioner’s visit and assurance reflect the administration’s commitment to address the concerns of the Project-Affected families and prioritize their welfare and safety. The implementation of fair compensation and adherence to safety measures will ensure a smooth and beneficial execution of the Pakal Dul Hydroelectric Power Project in Dachhan.
