Drug smuggler held in Bla, contraband substance also recovered: Police

Srinagar : Police on Thursday said that it has arrested a drug smuggler in Baramulla and also recovered contraband substance from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a Police party led by SHO Police Station Kunzer under the supervision of SDPO Tangmarg Imtiaz Ahmed at a checkpoint established at Pinjoora Crossing intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number DL8CAW-6316 driven by one person identified as Rouf Ahmad Wani S/o Nazir Ahmad Wani R/o Roshanabad Pinjoora, adding therein that during checking 105 grams of Charas like substance were recovered from his possession following which the accused was arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody and the vehicle used in the commission of crime was also seized.
Stating that the police has accordingly registered a case under relevant sections of law at police station Kunzer and further investigation was also initiated, Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling in their neighbourhood and warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be strictly dealt under law.
