Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday arrested a man who allegedly raped a minor girl in Srinagar.
The accused has been identified a 22-year-old Zaid Feroz of old Barzulla.
“The accused is a close relative of the victim,” police said in a Tweet.
A case under relevant section of law has been registered in Police Station Sadar and investigations started.
“One Accused namely Zaid Feroz of old barzulla, Srinagar aged 22 years arrested for raping a 12 year old child (name withheld). The accused is close relative of victim girl child. FIR no 56/2023 under sections 5, 6 of POCSO act registered in Sadar PS & investigation started,” a police tweet said.
