Met predicts 5-day wet weather with light to moderate rain over J&K

Srinagar: Meteorological Department on Tuesday predicted five-day wet weather with light to moderate rains over Jammu and Kashmir.

It said the weather will remain generally cloudy on Tuesday with light to moderate rain at scattered places in Jammu & Kashmir. “Today will be a cooler day”, the Met office said.

From July 5-8, the MeT office forecast of intermittent light to moderate rain or thunderstorm at many places in Jammu and Kashmir. Some places in the plains of the Jammu region may receive moderate to heavy spells during morning hours.

Srinagar recorded a low of 17.8°C against 19.0°C on the previous night and it was 0.7°C above normal for the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir.

Qazigund, had a low of 16.4°C against 17.0°C a day ago and it was 0.9°C above normal for the gateway of Kashmir.

Pahalgam recorded a low of 10.3°C against 11.5°C on the previous night and it was 0.5°C below normal for the famous tourist resort in south Kashmir.

Kupwara settled at 16.0°C against 16.7°C on the previous night and it was above normal by 0.5°C for the frontier north Kashmir district.

Kokernag recorded a low of 15.2°C against 16.7°C on the previous night and it was 0.3°C above normal for the famous picnic spot of the valley.

Gulmarg recorded a low of 11.8°C against 13.4°C on the previous night and it was 0.9°C above normal for the world-famous skiing resort in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, the MeT office said.
