Int’l day against drugs abuse and illicit trafficking: Excise Range Kathua organises Essay writing & Poster Making competitions

Kathua : Excise Range Kathua of Jammu & Kashmir Excise Department on Monday organised Essay writing and Poster Making competitions in Govt. Hr. Sec. School, Bani and Govt. High School, Bajohi in Sub Divison Bani.
The programmes were organised with the aim to generate awareness among the students regarding ill effects of the drugs abuse to mark International Day against Drugs Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.
The awareness programmes were organised under the directions of Excise Commissioner, Pankaj Kumar Sharma and supervision of Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Jammu Kusum Sharma.
The proceedings of the competitions was convened by ETO, Excise Range Kathua Varinder Kumar.
A total of 20 students of Govt. Hr. Sec. School, Bani participated in the Essay writing competition in which Nitasha Devi, Rahul Thakur and Kranti Devi bagged Ist, second and third prize respectively.
In Poster Making competition held at Govt. High School, Bajohi Zone Malhar a total of 18 students participated; Aman Singh,
Archana Devi and Manish Kumar won Ist, second and third prize respectively.
All the winners were awarded trophies and certificate of appreciation were also distributed among all the participants by the officials of the Excise Department and Heads of the Institutions.
Further, a signature campaign was also conducted in both the institutions whereby students took an oath of commitent to stay away from drugs and prevent their peers from falling victim to them.
Afterwards, refreshment was also distributed among the participants and the students of the school.
Principal Govt. Hr. Sec. School Bani Seikh Mohd Hafeez, and Incharge Govt. High School, Bajohi Zone Malhar Ramesh Chander appreciated the efforts of Excise Department in generating awareness among the students regarding ill effects of the drugs abuse.
