New Delhi : Minister of Railways, Communications and Electronics & Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw on Saturday inspected the Control Office at Divisional Railway Manager Office, New Delhi. Shobhan Chaudhuri, General Manager Northern Railway, Dimpy Garg, Divisional Railway Manager, Delhi and Senior Officers of Railway Board and Northern Railway were also present on the occasion.
A presentation regarding the working of the Control Office was made by the Delhi Division. The Minister discussed at length the working at the Control Office with the Officers present. The Minister also inspected the Control Office and interacted with the Officers and Railway employees of the various departments on duty at the Control Office. He instructed the Officers and staff present to ensure the safety of train movement and emphasized that it should not be compromised during monitoring of train movement at the Control Office. During the three hours meeting with the Divisional Team, Minister discussed recent experience of controllers and maintenance staff. He visited each Control Office, Section Controls, Coaching control, Freight control, Engineering control, Carriage and Wagon control, S&T, RPF, TRD, SCADA .
At Northern Railway Headquarters Baroda House, New Delhi, he also reviewed the arrangements of the forthcoming Kumbh Mela with General Managers of Northern Railway, North Central Railway and North Eastern Railway and along with DRM of Concerned Divisions. To tackle the pilgrim’s traffic, more than 800 Mela special trains shall be operated for evacuation of Pilgrims on 06 main bathing days of Kumbh, Jan -2025. Nine stations of NCR, NER and NR are planned for tackling pilgrim’s traffic. More than 15 Cr. pilgrims are expected to arrive in Kumbh-2025. Amounting of Rs. 837 Cr. sanctioned for various works including ROB/RUB and passenger amenities to be undertaken by NR, NCR and NER. The Minister instructed that all infrastructure work should be completed well in time.
