Jammu/Sept,18: Authorities on Monday closed all schools located near the International Border in Arnia area of Jammu district in view of cross-border firing.

An official said that all schools located within five-kilometres from the border will remain closed today in Arnia zone.

The armies of India and Pakistan have been exchanging heavy fire and shelling in the area from past few days.

A woman died and five others were injured in the shelling on Saturday night.

The latest exchange of fire, according to officials, began at 9pm last night and continued intermittently until 5:30am.
