GCW Udhampur, Govt Ayurvedic Hospital Jammu ink MoU to promote Health & Wellness

Jammu : To promote new academic partnership for Integration of Principles of Holistic Health &Wellness into Education- an Inter-institutional Convergence, Principal Government College for Women Udhampur Prof. Anjali Mahajan Saturday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Government. Ayurvedic Hospital, Jammu .
The objective of this MoU is to accelerate the progress of institutions by adopting a collaborative approach towards health and wellness through ayurveda, yoga and other stress relieving techniques.
Prof. Anjali Mahajan, Principal GCW Udhampur and Dr. Vandana Dogra, Medical Superintendent, Govt. Ayurvedic Hospital, Jammu signed the pact in the august presence of staff from GCW Udhampur and Govt. Ayurvedic Hospital, Jammu.
At the start of the programme, Prof Anjali Mahajan shed light on the purpose of MoU. She shared that both the institutions will unite by common interests and objectives, and will establish channels of communication and co-operation that may lead to sustainable development of both the institutions. She further elaborated that Govt. College for Women, Udhampur will establish an herbal garden (Arogya Vatika) and Nutritional Garden (PoshanVatika) in the premises of GCW, Udhampur for which the Govt.
Ayurvedic Hospital, Jammu J&K will provide technical inputs and planting material, IEC materials on various medicinal and nutritional plant species. Besides, GCWU dhampur will arrange demonstration Sessions on Yoga asana Meditation and Yogic Kriya and provide required space and materials for the same. It will also arrange awareness and demonstration lectures on Principles of Dincharya, Ritucharya, Sadvruta and optimal nutrition for promotion of individual health in accordance with the principles and practices of Ayush syste
Dr. Vandana Dogra, Medical Superintendent, in her address stated that both institutions will constitute a joint research team to study the effects of Yogic and Ayush interventions on various cognitive, emotional and behavioral patterns of students and teachers. Joint team will also study the social impact of Yoga and Ayush Interventions in colleges affiliated with the University of Jammu. GCW Udhampur will provide their research facilities for the joint research activities. Govt. Ayurvedic Hospital, J&K will depute experts for these demonstration and awareness sessions. They will also depute a team of expert doctors and paramedical staff and provide Ayush medicines, Immunity booster kits and Poshan Kits along with relevant IEC materials. She hoped that this collaboration will go a long way in benefitting the student community of both the institutions.
On this occasion, Dr. Sanjeet Kour (HOD Zoology), Dr. Anita Sharma (Convenor, IQAC), Dr. Kewal Kumar (Co-Convenor IQAC), and Dr. Amit Kumar (Member IQAC) were the representatives from GCW Udhampur.Dr. Arun Gupta and Dr. Ramesh Chander witnessed the event from Govt. Ayurvedic Hospital Jammu.
