Blackmailer arrested for harassing a girl in Bla: Police

Srinagar: Police on Thursday said that it has arrested an extortionist for blackmailing and threatening a girl in Baramulla.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that Police Post Delina Baramulla received a written complaint from a person who had alleged therein hat his daughter is being continuously blackmailed and threatened by an unknown caller since long and has caused his daughter severe distress.
Stating that the accused has also extorted handsome money from his daughter but when the situation got worsened, she disclosed whole story to him, Police in it’s statement further said that it has accordingly registered a case under relevant sections of law at Police Station Baramulla and initiated an investigation into the case.
Police in it’s above quoted statemen furthermore said that during the course of investigation, the police party led by IC PP Delina under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Baramulla, arrested the extortionist identified as Owais Rashid Bhat @Zaidaan @Sahabaa S/o Ab Rashid Bhat R/o Chitloora Rafiabad Sopore who was later shifted to police station where he remains in custody and the investigation of the case is going on.
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement Police appealed women to come forward with any kind of grievances and assured them that their safety and security will be ensured at any cost.
