NIT Srinagar hosts 3rd Int’l TEDx Conference Speakers share their inspiring journeys with students

Srinagar: The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar on Thursday hosted the 3rd International TEDx conference on the theme “Exploring the Unseen.
According to a statement issued from Public Relations Office NIT Srinagar, the event was organized by the Department of Training and Placements. It was attended by the eminent speakers from across the country, who shared their inspiring journeys with the students.
The event was graced by Dean Faculty Welfare Prof. G.A Harmain, Dean Alumni and International Affairs, Prof. Nazir Ahmad Sheikh, Dean Students Welfare, Prof. Abdul Liman, HOD Mechanical Engineering, Prof. Adnan Qayoom, Head, Department of T&P, Faculty Coordinator – TEDxNITSrinagar, Dr Sheikh Shahid Saleem, Dr. Tanveer Rasool and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
In his special message, Director NIT Srinagar, Prof. (Dr.) Sudhakar Yedla said that such events provide students with opportunities for learning, personal growth, and exposure to new ideas.
Prof. Yedla also appreciated the organising team of T&P Department for their efforts in making the program successful.
Institute Registrar, Prof. Syed Kaiser Bukhari, said motivation is also one of the key elements for igniting self-determination and self-belief.
“TEDx brings speakers, professionals, and experts from different backgrounds and disciplines. Such interactions inspire and motivate students and help them realize their potential and fuel their determination to pursue their dreams,” Prof. Bukhari said.
Six noted speakers from across the country were invited to share their inspiring journey with the participants.
Director Western Digital Khalid Wani, who is a visionary leader in the field of technology. He shared his insights into the future of digital innovation and its impact on society.
Amandeep Thind, who is an international Speaker, trainer & author. He is known for his expertise in personal development and leadership.
During his speech, Mr Thind empowered the audience with valuable strategies for achieving success and personal growth.
Prof. Naveed Nazir Shah, leading and renowned Pulmonologist & Head CD Hospital Srinagar shared his knowledge and experiences in combating respiratory diseases, particularly in light of recent global challenges. He also highlighted CD’s hospital role during the Covid19 pandemic.
Famous art Director, Forbes 30 under 30, Aaquib Wani shared his exceptional journey with the participants. He said despite multiple challenges in life, one has to move forward to achieve his or her dream.
“Facing challenges is an inevitable part of life, and it is often through overcoming those challenges that we grow and achieve our dreams. While the path to success may not always be easy, perseverance, determination, and a positive mindset can make a significant difference,” Wani said.
Renowned Kashmiri Rugby Player & Coach Irtiqa Ayoub shared his inspiring journey with the participants and emphasized the importance of determination, resilience, and breaking stereotypes in sports.
On the occasion, renowned performer, Singer & vocal coach, Akash Kumar, showcased his talent and highlighted the unifying power of music.
“Remember, challenges are not roadblocks but rather stepping stones on your journey to success. With determination, resilience, and a positive attitude, you can overcome obstacles and move forward toward achieving your dreams,” he said.
TEDxNITSrinagar is an independently organized TED event associated with the globally renowned TED organization. Building on TED’s mission to spread ideas, TEDx events provide local communities with a unique platform to curate and present thought-provoking talks.
