The release function was held in the presence of Additional District Development Commissioner, Pran Singh; District Statistical & Evaluation Officer, Suresh Kr. Sharma; Assistant Director of Planning, Mohammed Shakeel; Tehsildar, Shabir Ahmed and the Zonal Head of J&K Bank Ltd and other officials from DSEO, Doda.
The publications unveiled during the event included the Village Amenity Directory for the years 2019-20, 2020-21, and 2021-22; the District Statistical Handbook for the years 2018-19, 2019-20, and 2020-21; the District at a Glance for the years 2019-20 and 2020-21; and the District Economic Review for the years 2019-20 and 2020-21. These publications serve as an annual initiative by the District Statistical & Evaluation Office to showcase the significant achievements across various sectors of the economy in District Doda, focusing on socio-economic parameters.
The District Statistical & Evaluation Office, Doda faced a severe setback when it was completely devastated in a fire incident that occurred on the night of March 21st and 22nd, 2021. The fire resulted in the loss of all official records, electronic gadgets, and furniture. Despite this setback, the DDC commended the efforts of the DSEO, Doda, and its team for their commendable work in collecting data with limited resources. He emphasized the importance of continuing these vital publications with regular updates. The publications are not only beneficial for providing updated data to various departments and sectors for setting future priorities but also serve as valuable resources for policymakers, planners, researchers, and students.
