Jammu: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Dr. M.K. Bhandari Saturday convened a meeting of Divisional Level Committee constituted for monitoring and evaluation of “Self Help Group of Engineers Scheme”.
Commissioner JMC, Director Local Bodies, VC JDA, Director RDD, Regional Director Economics and Statistics, Chief Engineers of PHE, R&B, I&FC and PDD, Joint Director Employment besides two nominated representatives of Self Help Groups attended the meeting.
The Divisional Commissioner had a detailed review of the implementation of guidelines for Self Help Group of Engineers Scheme and exhorted upon the concerned to ensure that the scheme meets its objectives in all respects.
The Div Com directed the Chief Engineers to ensure that the development works are executed through Self Help Group of Engineers. He also asked the Rural Development Department to identify the works being conducted through their department and ensure that 30 per cent of these works through these groups.
