Ramban: NSS Unit of Government Degree College, Ukhral, in collaboration with Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and Seminar and Debates Committee of the College, organized an awareness programme on “Importance of Yoga for Human Health.”
A large number of students and staff members attended “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav”, programme, which started with the welcome address of Prof Zakir Hussain Naik, NSS Programme Officer. Prof Suresh Chander, HoD Dogri was the resource person. He threw detailed light on the importance of Yoga for human health and highlighted that Yoga brings unity and harmony between mind and body.
The Principal of the College, Prof (Dr) Shallu Samyal, in her message, impressed upon the students to practice Yoga daily to stay healthy and fit.
Dr. Shafiq Ahmed Katoch, HoD Urdu, in his talk, advised the students to perform Yoga daily to achieve sound mind in sound bodies.
A large number of students participated in the awareness programme and expressed their views on the significance of Yoga in the individual’s life. Those who were present on the occasion included Prof. Ishfaq Hassan Mir, Prof. Mushtaq Ahmed, Prof. Akash Verma, Lila Devi. The programme culminated with the vote of thanks by Prof. Iftikhar Hussain Lone, HoD English.
