KU’s NSS, NYKS organise ‘Yuva Utsav India@2047’ in Varsity; 260 young students attend multi-event festival

Srinagar: The National Service Scheme (NSS), University of Kashmir, and Nehru Yuva Kendra Srinagar, on Thursday organised a district-level ‘Yuva Utsav India@2047’ in the Varsity which drew the participation of hundreds of young students from across Kashmir.
According to a statement issued from Centre for Public Relations University of Kashmir, Srinagar Vice-Chancellor Prof Nilofar Khan, presided over the inaugural session as Chief Guest.
The event, which aimed to nurture the potential of youth and help channelise their talent towards positive and productive pursuits, was organised on the ‘Panch Pran of AmritKaal’ and celebrate the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav in the spirit of ‘Yuva Shakti Se Jan Bhagidari’.
Over 260 young and talented youth in the age group of 15-29 from various colleges and higher secondary schools of Srinagar showcased their talent in five respective categories, including Young Artist Contest (Painting), Young Writers Contest (Poetry), Photography Contest and Workshop, Declamation Contest and District Cultural Presentation.
In her presidential address, Prof Nilofar Khan extended the University’s full cooperation and support for such events concerning the welfare and betterment of youth.
She said the NSS and NYKS have a central role to play in helping to unlock the hidden creative potential of youth.
Registrar KU Dr Nisar A Mir later presided over the valedictory session and said the programme is a wonderful opportunity for the youth to showcase their talent in various forms of art and literary activities. He said the NSS and NYK are doing their best to involve the youth in constructive pursuits.
Dr Musavir Ahmad, Coordinator, NSS, KU said that talented youth from higher secondary schools and colleges participated in the Yuva Utsav with great enthusiasm.
The winners of all five competitions were later felicitated with cash prizes, trophies, and certificates presented by Dr Nisar.
Deputy Director, NYKS, Hakim Abdul Aziz thanked the Vice-Chancellor and NSS, KU for their cooperation in making the event a success.
