CT University Ludhiana located on the Ludhiana -Feroz Pur road in Ludhiana, Punjab is fast emerging as an educational hub not only in North India but is becoming a trend setter in imparting quality education in the entire landscape of Modern India. As a research scholar of CT since 2019, I have witnessed this university growing in stature as a vibrant educational centre with each passing day and is truly making its mark in the field of Education. CT University has been established in the year 2016 under the dynamic leadership of Charanjit Singh Channi, whose far sighted vision has been the guidance principle to conceptualize and transform the idea of creating a world class learning centre in to reality. The ultimate motive in establishing this excellence par educational institution is to play a pivotal role in having the world class higher education system with much emphasis on employability, transformative impact in the field of cutting edge research, innovation, collaboration, creativity and entrepreneurship. The university campus has a world class infrastructure with all the requisite facilities available for the modern learner ranging from highly sophisticated computer lab, spacious library, digital repository of e- content, simulation laboratories, round the clock internet facility and therefore the onus of making optimum use of such facilities is entirely in the hands of the students to take advantage of these varied facilities for the smooth progression of their careers in this highly competitive world. As a research scholar, I have seen over the years the inclusivity being the hall mark feature of this University. The campus remains abuzz with all sorts of diversity: be it religious, linguistic or geographical. Students from all shades of life get illuminated under one roof irrespective of religion, region or language. The university attracts huge influx of International students from West Asian countries, African countries, Nepal , Bangladesh and that offers an excellent opportunity for the regional students especially the students of Kashmir valley , who are in large flocks here to nicely get along with the students from these countries so as to get the first hand experience of international exposure by sharing with them all sort facilities offered by the university be it class room , library , Laboratory , mess , sports infrastructure etc. This will truly facilitate them in the long run as it will definitely have an everlasting impression as they will move on in their life.
What has been exemplary in the university is the highly professional acumen and attitude of every stake holder and the synergy and coordination between the various departments is surreal and literally of next level. Everyone in what so ever capacity is aware of his/her role and responsibilities and does it with utmost grit and determination at the complete satisfaction of the end user. This is what makes a CTian family so loving and alluring .
The university has proved its mettle in linking campus based knowledge with real life employability opportunities and that has a catalyzing effect on the students who at one hand continue receiving education and at the other hand get hired by the leading companies and therefore are able to support their education and families monetarily by getting handsome financial package from their employer and at the same get sea of experience in their respective fields. I have observed over the years large number of Kashmiri students besides enrolling themselves in diverse courses offered by the University, simultaneously doing part time job in different capacities within and outside the campus. Infact a number of Kashmir based youth are in the faculty domain of the University ranging from Assistant Professors in Psychology, English, Multimedia and Gaming, Computer sciences etc. and are being paid lucrative salaries to sustain their livelihood. Unfortunately that is not the case with our higher educational institutions which have become redundant as they are not able to cater the learning needs of 21st learner and still are adapting the traditional approach of transmission of black and white information. Our higher educational institutions are imparting obsolete knowledge that is confined to within the four walls of the room and hardly suffice the requirements of the learner to get absorbed in the competitive market to earn with dignity for his/her just survival. The drug menace is engulfing our youth at an alarming pace across the rural and urban pedigree and has jeopardized the societal structure and we are rapidly losing our younger generation to drugs and infact the damage has been caused beyond repair. The CT University is strict drug free campus cum no smoking zone and that is truly helping in giving definite direction to the life of the youth. For such an untiring effort, the CT management deserves due applause and salutation. Students can be kept away from drugs by getting them rigorously involved in allied sports activities. The university has made it mandatory for every stake holder to actively participate in co-curricular activities. The department of Student Welfare Section of CT University is swift and prompt in organizing different sports competitions ranging from Hostel Premier League, Volley ball competition , Football, Badminton , Cricket, Interdepartmental tournaments, inter faculty matches in different categories. These co-curricular activities are usually executed in the leisure time of the student, so that the students do not remain idle for an extended period of time, which thus helps in exponential ways to keep the drug menace at bay in the University campus.
