Weekly Block Diwas: DC Doda listens to people’s issues at picturesque Batkhandi Park

Doda: To enable the people of far-flung areas to reap the benefits of Weekly Block Diwas program, Doda administration on Wednesday organised a series of public outreach/ grievances redressal camps across the district.
The block Diwas programmes were held at Panchayat Butla, Block Bhaderwah; Sub Divisional Headquarter Gandoh; PWD Guest House Ramgarh, in Sub Division Assar; Tehsil Headquarter Thathri, Sub Division Thathri; and Village Bani (Batkhandi Park) Panchayat Beoli
Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Mahajan, along with other District Officers, participated and listened to the public grievances at picturesque Batkhandi Park (Bani) Village Panchayat Beoli of Block Bhagwah.
The People projected a host of issues and problems and sought immediate intervention of the district administration for early redressal.
They demanded establishment of Bank branch with ATM facility in Beoli village, Road connectivity to Wanda village via Lal Draman, Math teacher for local Govt Middle school and its up-gradation to High School level, SRTC Bus service for village Beoli, Bus Stand for Beoli, Replacement of Wooden poles and installation of Transformer at upper Beoli etc.
Responding to the public issues, DC Doda directed the JK Bank Zonal head to immediately provide two Banking Correspondents and at the same time submit a proposal for establishing a bank branch and ATM in Beoli village. He assured the public that the provision of a Math teacher would be made in the next few days. The SE PWD was asked to prepare the DPR and feasibility report for the construction of Wanda Road. ARTO Doda was instructed to take the matter of starting SRTC Bus service for the village. Other issues raised during the Block Diwas were addressed with due satisfaction of the locals.
The DC also planted saplings in the park and inspected the Medical Centre at Beoli village.
Chief Agriculture officer, Anil Gupta gave detailed information to the people about the ongoing Kisan Sampark Abhiyan under HADP and other farmers welfare schemes.
Officers of other departments also responded to the queries raised by the public and their representatives during the event.
The DC Doda, while interaction with the public, impressed upon the people to develop the spirit of Jan Bhagidari in developmental activities and save/ protect the forest cover to conserve purity and natural beauty of the area. He urged the local youth to come forward to project the area as a tourist place by conscious publicity and creation of infrastructure. He also spoke on Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan and urged the public to work in coordination with the District Administration to eradicate drug menace from the society.
At other designated places of Block Diwas, ADCs and SDMs along with senior level officers of various departments listened to the public issues, demands and aspirations and ensured the time bound redressal of all the genuine issues/ demands.
